Stuffed Cabbage with Ground Turkey and Ginger

  • 1lb ground turkey

  • 1 cup cooked rice

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten

  • 1 shallot, minced

  • 2 Tbs finely chopped fresh ginger (from a 2-inch piece)

  • 2 cloves minced garlic

  • 2tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 head of Napa cabbage

  • 2cups chicken broth

Preheat oven to 350

In a large bowl mix together the turkey, rice, egg, shallot, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce. Set aside

Bring a large pot of water to bowl. Blanch the Napa cabbage leaves, 4 at a time for 2 minutes. Allow to cool slightly on a clean cloth or paper towel.

Place a Napa cabbage leaf seem side down with the thicker part of the stem closest to you. . Fill with 3 Tbs. of the turkey mixture. Roll the leaf around the filling them place in a 8 x 10” container seam side down tucking the sides in when placing them. Repeat with remanning leaves and filling.

Drizzle with broth and bake for 40 minutes or until filling is cooked through.

Serve warm with a laddle of broth on top.

Makes about 4 servings.
