I find that food tastes exponentially better when made and eaten outside, especially on a warm summer night. It is pretty hard to beat a summer BBQ. And I know when people think about BBQs they think of heavy (but delicious) cuts of slow cooked meat. Well I am all for that, but sometimes I love using the grill (specifically our Traeger ) to take vegetables to the next level. Enter romaine lettuce. A somewhat boring salad green that is elevated to the next level when lightly charred.
Read MoreMy fridge is filled with summer flavors these days. I pretty much only want to eat corn, zucchini and tomatoes for the next couple of months.
Read MoreShrimp are one of the things that I keep on hand in my freezer. Since they defrost so well they create so many different easy weeknight dinners.
In today's fridge foraging you all chose shrimp scampi. Shrimp scampi is one of those classic dishes that comes together really easily and taste like a millions dollars. It is pretty hard to beat the garlic, wine, and butter trifecta.
Read MoreI swear that most of the food that I eat comes in bowl form. Who needs a plate when you can just pile everything into a huge bowl!
In this week’s fridge foraging you all chose the smoked salmon bowl over the coconut curry stuffed sweet potatoes. The bowl is filled with brown rice, smoked salmon, pickled vegetables, avocado, and served with Sriracha mayo. Hearty and healthy and proves that food in bowl form just tastes better.
Read MoreI took a couple weeks off from cooking after the baby came - we were surviving on the generosity of food from our friends. I am back now and it feels great to be cooking again and obviously fridge foraging again.
Tonight the options were either chicken noodle soup or naan with all the toppings and the naan won. Great choice since I can never turn down a fried egg.
Read MoreRight before baby Olivia was born I made a batch of these muffins and they have been a lifesaver for breakfast. I froze them individually and then microwave one for breakfast each morning. I love how in 30 seconds I can have breakfast so I can turn my attention to a hungry baby. They are full of flavor as well as carrots and zucchini to make them a little healthier.
Read MoreThe choice was very apparent in today's fridge foraging - it was between cauliflower soup and a springtime croque monsieur and there was an overwhelming response for a croque monsieur. And I don't blame you! How could you not want to have toasty pieces of bread smothered in a cheesy bechamel sauce topped with turkey, asparagus, and peas? It is a total winner of a recipe and super fun to make on the latest episode of fridge foraging
Read MoreThankfully you all like Asian inspired dishes as much as I do because today you guys chose chicken lettuce cups in Fridge Foraging.

Read MoreA couple years ago I was fortunate enough to go to Japan. I travelled with a couple dear friends and we went to Tokyo, Kyoto, and this little town in the between called Hakone. It was one of the best trips of my life, hands down. Between the people, the sights and the food (most definitely the food) it was an amazing experience.
Read MoreThis week's fridge foraging was between tomato soup and these noodle bowls and I am so glad these noodle bowls won! A bowl full of chicken, noodles, and herbs is my ultimate healthy comfort food.
Read MoreSo if you haven't seen the news on Instagram....we have moved to Nashville! It was a whirlwind move but we are thrilled to be here. Because of the move, I skipped last week's fridge foraging but am back this week! With the move and just general life craziness, my fridge isn't the most well stocked it has ever been....but that is the point of fridge foraging - to make something out of nothing.
Read MoreLet me tell you, this is a total winner of a recipe. For this week's fridge foraging we are using store bought pizza dough and topping with ricotta, caramelized onions and some frozen vegetables. This recipe might be one for the ages! Love the combo of caramelized onions and ricotta on crispy/chewy flatbread.
Read MoreAs I was brainstorming Valentine's Day recipes I was trying to think of the most Valentines/romantic recipes I could think of and in addition to the perfect chocolate souffle, chocolate fondue comes in a very close second! I think it was because we grew up going to the Melting Pot for celebrations but to me a huge chocolate fondue spread just screams Valentines Days. Do you know what else I love about it? Is it super easy to throw together.
Read MoreFor this week's fridge foraging you all chose the tacos. Which is perfect because I have been CRAVING all the tacos lately. These tacos are filled with slow cooked salmon, topped with a spicy mayo and all the toppings.
Read MoreI can't seem to get enough of citrus these days. I was always a citrus lover growing up but it intensified a millions times when I got pregnant. All I want to do is eat citrus and drink orange juice. And don't get me started on lemon desserts, I can't pass up any dessert with lemon in it, especially these Meyer Lemon Bars.
Read MoreWith this baby on the way I have started to think more about easy cooking. I have a feeling that - for a little while anyway - the days of leisurely cooking in the kitchen may be over. I have so many friends who say they don't have time to cook or are too busy with their kids to make dinner. Well this one if for them! It might be one of the easiest one pot pastas out there and it all comes together in less that 20 minutes. 15 if you can get that water boiling faster. So keep a lookout for more one pan wonders and sheet pan suppers, I am super excited to develop and share more of those recipe.

Read MoreOne of my favorite stalls at the farmers market each week is the mushroom stand. It is guaranteed to wow and amaze anyone who passes by. The gentleman who mans the stand always has the usual mushrooms like shiitake or oyster but often times he will have the most gorgeous unusual mushrooms that are so unique looking, they almost look like they don’t belong on this planet! From creamy chanterelles, to lion’s mane, to the fluorescent orange of lobster mushrooms, I love that almost no two mushrooms look alike.
